Omission by the ones you trust
Omission can shape opinion, and when discussing the white house, all facts are needed.
On this morning’s Gene Valicenti show, the headlines have to be read. It was 8:30 A.M., afterall, and radio protocol seems to be traffic, weather and headlines are more important than the Governor's time.
Rhode Island Gov.Gov. Dan McKee is typically on Gene’s show to give his take on state business, ranging from but not limited to housing, food costs and the Washington State Bridge, which has many here in the fun-sized state in an uproar.
A caller asked a great question about affordability, since she was a full time teacher and struggling to find a home on her salary, but it was headline time so the headlines guy, Bill Haberman was ready to cut off Gov. Mckee and the host had already shifted away to a question about RIDOT.
I linked today’s show above, and while reviewing the audio, I noticed the headlines and Bill’s voice is missing. Another, amazing omission. Luckily, I was actively listening and took the quote because it was really bad from someone who is supposed to be a newsman and somewhat neutral.
“The white house is really giving it to Zeleniski", said Haberman…alludding to a hard deadline peace deal negotiated by…..here’s the kicker, negotiated without a Ukrainian presence.
There was no mention of the brutal, Russian attack consisting of 500+ drones into residential areas, along with missiles, at least one munition hitting an apartment complex killing at least 25 people.
A “simple” omission from Haberman that should have been read along with whatever headlines came out of the White House.
As mentioned in our live show this past Tuesday morning, the mainstream media conveniently leaves out, aka omits, pertinent information. Russia sending more munitions into civilian territory is very pertinent information for the standard WPRO listener.
Many journalists are trying to report clearly, but it is not easy to do the work during an authoritarian regime.
ABC news’s white house correspondent Mary Bruce, bravely confronted the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Bin Salman in the oval office this week about his role in the murder of Washington Post correspondent Jamal Khashoggi.
Mr Salman was in charge when Mr Khashoggi was murdered with a bonesaw, and the current U.S. President Donald Trump said of Mr. Khashoggi, “a lot of people didn’t like that gentleman that you’re talking about, whether you like him or not, things happen.” and then went on to rebut his own U.S. intelligence.
As I say in my live shows, don’t just take my word for it, go ahead and watch or read for yourself:
Families of 9/11 should be and are outraged by having MBS sit and lie in the white house, especially with the crucial information that is being widely reported, but not talked about enough.
The majority of hijackers during one of the darkest days of U.S. history was from the country of Saudi Arabia. That same country, Saudi Arabia, we are now selling some of our best military technology to, and in particular, planes.
Here’s a link to just one article about how good these planes are:

Saudi Arabia also has a comprehensive strategic partnership with China, which makes one think our most highly kept military secrets will now be shared with not only Saudi Arabia, but also China.
Didn’t we want to ban Tik Tok because China would have access to our phones? Which seems worse, stealth technology or the online diary of a teenager?
Fun fact, our data could be even MORE vulnerable after the “ban.”
As for a solution? People don’t want to hear it, but we’re stuck like this until midterms. Just this past week, some of our decorated leaders, ones that have either served in the military, or served on an intelligence council, urged current military members to disobey unlawful orders.
The uniformed code of military justice is a tricky bit of law, making the commander-in-chief quite powerful.
That commander-in-chief has called for the execution of our leaders.
This is a real statement that had to come out of the White House, but, Ms. Levitt doesn’t know what was truly in the President’s heart when he put out his ridiculous threat.
So much for the calls of no political violence.
